MSQ and Emet-Selch Art

May 22, 2020

Okay, it’s really late news for me, but last night, I finally finished the MSQ (Main Story Quest) in FF14 for Shadowbringers.

I truly think I didn’t want it to end, and that’s why it took so long, but damn, last night those 3 hours were intense in story. I see why it’s so well received, and I’m surprised I waited so long to actually finish it up. It was wonderful, and it’s really invigorated my love of the game as a whole.

Come on, I look good, right?

As I was watching the final cutscenes, I decided to do some art this morning off of it – especially Emet-Selch, who is, by far, the best “villain” in any video game I’ve played. I wasn’t expecting to feel so much for him and his plight, but … yeah.

If you haven’t played Shadowbringers yet, I highly recommend it, although if you skip the story for A Realm Reborn (2.0), Heavensward (3.0), and Stormblood (4.0), you’ll miss some of the amazing tie-ins that appeared throughout Shadowbringers, making the story telling even more engaging.

Okay, enough of that, onto the artwork.

Fun to do over coffee, and it looks great on all the screens I’ve checked it on. Products with the design will be on my RedBubble shortly, and then on my storefront, too.

Speaking of screens, we got Chris an early birthday present – a 43″ 4K TV. We had been using a 30″ HDTV for … well, since we’ve been in Japan, so 8+ years now, and it was really due in for an upgrade. We got a stupid good deal on it, too, and I don’t know if it’s because they just want to move product, or if we just got a good sales person, or the “gaijin discount” because no one wanted to help us in fear that we only spoke English. Regardless of which, it is beautiful and Chris is happy! Also, Animal Crossing looks great on it ;P
