In Japan, there is a kind of tradition of starting out the new year with a clean house – spring cleaning in the middle of winter.
There is something to be said for celebrating with a clean, organized home.
And if you know me, you know “clean” and “organized” aren’t words that apply to me 99.99999% of the time. This year, I’m doing my best to try, though.
Since a new year means new bullet journal, I made a page for it (more on my new journal later!) to try to help me tackle it. I doubt I’ll have it all done by the beginning of the year in like a day, but it’s almost everything I should make a point of doing in January.
Just finished cleaning the car, too, so that’s one not on the list checked off!
I love that the drawing makes my apartment look both bigger than it is and absolutely tiny lol
I always get a huge cleaning buzz around Samhain (which is my new year, because witchy/Celtic reasons) and a secondary desire to declutter and organise things around the end of December and beginning of January. It feels totally natural because those are threshold-crossing times, times of progress and beginnings. My car really needs dealt with though!
I love your cleaning plan! I agree, starting the new year with a clean house is great. Maybe not the whole house but I do at least plan on a good clean and reorganisation of my craft room.
Why thank you! I am dreading getting into my craft room, because I have a terrible habit of getting a billion ideas while trying to organize things. Ideas that I *just have to try now really quick*. ;P
Haha, yes! finding different materials and being ‘ah, I must make something from this right now!’ xD
